Things to do in San Diego

USS Midway: Conference attendees and guests can arrange on their own to visit the USS Midway, the nation's longest-serving aircraft carrier of the 20th century. Named after the Battle of Midway of June 1942, this aircraft carrier was built in 17 months. It missed World War II by one week when it was commissioned Sept. 10, 1945, and has a fascinating history.

The USS Midway is located about 1.5 miles from the Hilton San Diego Bayfront hotel. Ticket information and hours are available on the USS Midway website.

The USS Midway operates within limited hours and docent-led tours. Plan ahead to visit the USS Midway on Saturday, Sunday or Wednesday afternoon.

Petco Park: Home of the San Diego Padres baseball team, Petco Park stadium is next door to the Omni San Diego Hotel and across the street from the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.

Hotel Del Coronado: The historic "Hotel Del," where Marilyn Monroe and Tony Curtis filmed "Some Like it Hot," is fewer than five miles from the main conference hotel.

Additional information is available from the San Diego Tourism Authority.
